Congratulations to the Arkansas Ministers’ Wives
on hosting a powerful NMWC, with the theme “The Power of I Am: Becoming a Better Me.” Held September 9-11, 2016 Marriott Downtown Little Rock, Arkansas We extend a heartfelt thanks and appreciation to conference Chairperson, Sis. Tessie Smith, and Co-Chairs, Sis. Dell Nita Jefferson and Sis. Carolyn Hollerman. Check out the thanks-filled testimony from attendees at the NMWC 2016: “The topics had a way of impacting you in ways you never imagined. Helping you to deal with past, present, and future situations. It can equip you to be proactive in your walk instead of reactive.” Takeisha Fifer, Central Rock Church of Christ ( Little Rock, Arkansas) “This being my first conference, it was beyond anything I expected. I enjoyed everything from the hotel accommodations to the speakers and the workshops. One of the things that stood out the most was the fact that I didn't have to do everything myself. It seems like the ministers’ wife can feel obligated to try and run everything, and it's just not necessary. Now receiving that validation, I believe this will help me empower others to take on tasks they normally would not. In addition to not burning myself out, and resenting my role.” Helice Harmon, Hawthorne Church of Christ (Hawthorne, CA) “One of the things that I really enjoyed about this conference was the energy! Sometimes when you attend events like these, respectfully, they can be a little dry. This was definitely not the case! Everyone that I came in contact with was very courteous, funny, and just laid back. It was refreshing to have a forum for ministers’ wives to not only encourage and educate, but to have a good time while doing it. The best moments for me were those when seasoned ministers’ wives would take the time to personally pour knowledge into those of us in need. I appreciate and value the connections that were made. This was my first conference, and I was very impressed with the openness and realness of it. I can’t wait for the next one! Clarissa Jones, Pembroke Park Church of Christ (Pembroke, FL) [One of the best things about the conference:] “So I’d say getting a mentor… and I had several sisters reach out to me that I will be staying in touch with and some that I’d met prior to the conference.” Brenee Mushonga, Faith Pointe Church of Christ ( Fort Worth, TX) [One of the best things about the conference:] “Able to see how much we need each other. But the reoccurring idea of not being afraid to reach out, fellowship, and talks hit home. Also I LOVED the compassion projects.” Cathi Wilson, Kings Church (Brooklyn, New York ) |
